چکیده

Abstract Introduction Individuals are exposed to various air pollutants every day, both when they inside and outside. Poor quality can negatively impact an individual’s sleep quality, especially the individual has been Particulate Matter 2.5 (PM2.5) which adversely affect human health due its ability penetrate into a body easily. Methods We examined how PM2.5 exposure impacts perceived metrics. 11 individuals (7 Female, 4 Male) with average age 34.18±10.24 years participated where each participant lived in simulated one-bedroom apartment unit located Rochester, MN for 20 nights total over weeks. Participants wore EEG-based headband (Dreem) measure metrics completed surveys assess fatigue level weekday after woke up. Air including was monitored units from sensors participants outside using portable research grade monitor paired GPS. Total calculated day by multiplying concentration 6 liter/min of inhalation rate duration (min). excluded less than 5 hours duration. One who reported poor 70% time also excluded. Results had 58.2μg±63.8 during until went bed 0.8μg±2.6 sleep. Because there minimal night exposure, only correlated measures. There no significant effect on efficiency, onset latency, wake onset, as measured Dreem headband. modest but rated poorer (r(141)=.17, p=.042) higher levels (r(141)=.26, p=.002) next morning. Conclusion These findings suggest acute were not high enough did one’s Future studies should examine longer period whether is chronic Support (if any)

Refreshing Sleep and Sleep Continuity Determine Perceived Sleep Quality

Sleep quality is a construct often measured, employed as an outcome criterion for therapeutic success, but never defined. In two studies we examined appraised good and poor sleep quality in three groups: a control group, individuals with obstructive sleep apnea, and those with insomnia disorder. In Study 1 we used qualitative methodology to examine good and poor sleep quality in 121 individuals...

Introduction to Sleep Electroencephalography

EEG records synaptic potentials from pyramidal cells. It is critical to remember that there is no absolute voltage measurement in clinical EEG. Rather, an EEG trace records potential differences between two electrodes. By convention of the amplifiers used in clinical EEG, an upgoing deflection indicates that input 1 (grid 1) is more negative (or less positive) than input 2 (grid 2). This is an ...

The sleep quality and prevalence of sleep disorders in adolescents

Sleep has a key role in the development of adolescents. Sleep is effective not only in physical growth, but also in behavior, emotion, cognition, attention, and school performance of adolescents. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the quality of sleep and the prevalence of sleep disorders in adolescents of Gonabad city. The statistical sample consisted of 1153 adolescents study...

How Aging Affects Sleep-Dependent Memory Consolidation?

Memories are not stored as they were initially encoded but rather undergo a gradual reorganization process, termed memory consolidation. Numerous data indicate that sleep plays a major role in this process, notably due to the specific neurochemical environment and the electrophysiological activity observed during the night. Two putative, probably not exclusive, models ("hippocampo-neocortical d...
